Do you know this God?

"Thus saith the LORD the King of Israel, and his redeemer the LORD of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God."
Isa 44:6

Billions all over the world believe in a "god" but God Almighty has declared from the heavens that besides Him there is NO other god.

A great many people will stumble at that statement but it is still true today. Why would you worship something that can neither hear nor help you in times of distress when all along there is a God who has been there since time began?

I rejoice in the knowledge that there is no God but Jehovah!

"That men may know that thou, whose name alone is JEHOVAH, art the most high over all the earth." (Psa 83:18)

Has Our Worship Become Too Casual?

Am I the only one that wonders what has happened to the holy reverence for the house of God that used to be so evident? For example:
*Why is it necessary to bring water bottles into the sanctuary?
*Shouldn't we feed our children at home instead of on the pew?
*Are you so important that you have to leave your cell phone on during the service?
*Ladies,do you have nothing to wear that leaves so little to the imagination?
*Men,did you know they sell shirts that actually button up past the chest?

OK...lest you think I'm a legalist or even worse a clothesline preacher from another era,I am aware that God would rather you show up just as you are than stay home and watch TV on Sunday morning. But doesn't God and His house merit a little more respect from us?

I fear that we have become far too casual in our attire, our worship, and our praise. After all, is not our God a Holy God? Would it not stand to reason that a Holy God must be approached with a Holy reverence?

"To the end he may stablish your hearts unblameable in holiness before God, even our Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all his saints." (1Th 3:13)

My prayer is that we give honor and glory to our Lord in all that we do, and that our lives are a living testimony of the love of God.

Who But God?

Who but God can empower His people to stand in the days in which we live? With so many in America discouraged and defeated it is a good thing to serve the living God! How does anyone have the strength or courage to make it from one day to the next without God in their hearts?

No matter what comes against us we have a promise from God Himself that He will make a way where there seems to be no way! In fact, He spoke through the prophet Isaiah these very powerful words:

"No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD." (Isa 54:17)

No weapon, no matter how sinister or evil can cause us to be defeated as long as we remember Him in our hearts. A Christian can be both rich or poor, hungry or fed, naked or clothed,on the mountain or deep in the valley. As long as we hold to the unchanging hand of our heavenly Father no weapon can defeat us!

Give God the praise!
